The Association

The Negev Creators Association is a non-profit organization registered with the Registrar of Associations. Its members include artists, art enthusiasts, and culture lovers. The association and its members volunteer to operate the Artists’ House.
It is governed according to law and its bylaws, managed by a board headed by the association’s chairperson.

activities

The association’s main goals are to promote art in the Negev and bring it closer to the public, to help spread the reputation of local artists, and to hold diverse cultural activities such as exhibitions, creative workshops, concerts, public meetings with artists, literary evenings, and more.
The municipality of Be’er Sheva allocated the building for the purpose of displaying artworks by Negev artists and promoting these goals. The Kivunim Company assists in the operation of the Artists’ House, while its day-to-day activities are carried out voluntarily by the artists themselves and by the house’s friends.
The association’s budget relies mainly on donations and annual membership fees paid by its members.
The works displayed at the Artists’ House include painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, mosaics, jewellery, and more. Ethiopian Jewish ceramic art and embroidery from the Desert Embroidery initiative in Lakiya have also been exhibited.
In recent years, the Artists’ House has undertaken community activities to encourage young people’s engagement with art, organizing exhibitions of local high school art majors and awarding scholarships to selected young creators.
Entry to the Artists’ House requires a modest fee, except for certain music and cultural events, for which separate charges apply.

members of the ass0ciation

The association currently has about 50 members who volunteer to run the house, open it to the public, and take shifts.
As of early 2020, annual membership fees were set at 120 NIS. Association members may influence and participate in the house’s ongoing activities, elect office holders, and be elected to its governing bodies. Members can also apply to display their works in the building or in other city institutions under agreements with the association, for an additional fee.
Each member may sign a personal agreement with the association to display their works, subject to approval of the artworks’ suitability and payment of the additional fee (beyond membership dues).
We invite anyone who wishes to contribute and make an impact to join us.
